The Banks 35170-B Ram-Air Transmission Pan replaces the factory 68RFE pan on your 6.7L Cummins-equipped Dodge/Ram truck. Banks brings forced-air cooling to the 68RFE using patented Ram-Air technology, FlowThru fins, and increased fluid capacity to help reduce temps and extend transmission fluid life for longer-lasting bearings and clutch packs.
Engineered To Run Cool
Decades of Ram-Air and thermal-management expertise (racing & military development) went into this pan. A forward-facing scoop draws cool air and forces it through external heat-radiation fins while internal fins absorb heat from the fluidâcreating a direct heat path from inside to outside.
Forced Air Cooling + Breakaway Scoop
Unlike designs that hang the panâs metal as the lowest point, the Banks pan is engineered so the front scoop is the sacrificial lowest point while still providing +3 quarts added capacity. The scoop is designed to break away without damaging the pan; if it breaks, Banks will provide a replacement scoop.
Banks vs Stock
The factory 68RFE pan is shallow stamped steel with no meaningful fins. The Banks die-cast design dramatically increases internal/external surface area for better heat rejection to the airflow under the truck.
Die-Cast vs Sand-Cast
Banks lubrication cooling parts are die-cast (not sand-cast) for higher precision, lower porosity, and a smoother internal surfaceâhelping fluid flow and enabling long, thin cooling fins.
